Can We Talk About....Trauma Responses at Work

CPS HR Consulting Season 1 Episode 1

Welcome to our podcast where we'll dive deep into the topic of trauma responses at work. Today, we're going to unpack how our reactions to childhood experiences often shape the way we respond to situations in the workplace.

Recognizing these responses is the first step in managing them. When you realize you're in a trauma response.  (1) Be Aware: Pause and acknowledge your feelings and reactions without judgment. Awareness is key to breaking free from automatic patterns of behavior.  (2) Take the ACEs Questionnaire: The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Questionnaire can help you understand how your past experiences may be impacting your present behavior and mental health. This self-assessment tool can provide valuable insights and guide you toward seeking appropriate support or resources.

By understanding common triggers and recognizing our trauma responses, we can take proactive steps to improve our work relationships, job satisfaction, and overall well-being. Remember, healing is a journey, and it's okay to seek support along the way.
